Small whale sculpture

A flying whale sculpture so you can whale watch every day.

When I was in a wheelchair I would feel the most free when I was in the water and ever since then I have found whales fascinating.

I hand build these whales so that each one has its own character with its own vibe, the glaze is several layers to look like water cascading over the whales body. I’ve even andded some barnacle detail in the glaze. I really try to give each one a uniqueness just like the whales that inspire them. I stoneware fire these so that they are strong enough to live outside in our garden plants but they look great indoors too, Who knows when you look away you might hear a splash.

This whale is roughly 17cm long and comes with a small metal rod for inside. The rod can go towards the front or back of the whale to choose if it dives up or down. When I put them in the garden I like longer rods or even bamboo sticks that I get from B&Q
