Calm Ocean dish

Coral reefs and adventures in crystal blue seas are high on my daydream list when I'm crafting clay and these dishes take me straight to the ocean. Each bowl has been hand carved with the coral/ripple like pattern which leaves a fascinatingly tactile surface. I like to amplify the water like feel and tactile sensation by glazing the carved areas with layers of turquoise glaze, then wiping it back to leave the sandy buff clay on the hight points. Just like mini moats dug in sand or the tide lapping at the shore.

These dishes have been stoneware fired and glazed with food safe glazes so you can use them in a fun table scape or as an artefact from a sunken city.
