I love making little pots. Working small leads on to big ideas and if I can throw something small, I find it easier to scale up and throw big too. It’s a more affordable and accessible way of doing pottery and little wheels means a smaller mess too.

Throwing on a small pottery wheel at home can be both affordable and convenient. Having your own setup allows you to practice whenever inspiration strikes. But without a pottery studio (or a friend nearby to ask for help) things can sometimes feel confusing. That’s why I wanted to write this book: to answer those questions and be that helpful friend.

Small pottery wheels are often overlooked or dismissed as toys. In this book, I’ll share techniques that show how, with the right powered wheel, you can make both small decorative pieces and larger functional mugs from a home setup.
