The waterfall vase has been fired twice to give a layered glaze effect that appears deep and fluid. It reminds me of water cascading over rocks in a waterfall and somehow looks like it is always in motion.
There are hints of red that peek through which create a lovely contrast and add to the feeling that the vase is enveloped by water.
Although this is a vase the hole is small as it is intended as more of a sculptural object. (but could hold a single stem.)
I hand pinch these forms so they have an organic hand made feel which is why I love hand building so much. You really get to see how the hands have interacted with the clay, and in this case its my hands in a form I really love.
