Naked Raku Base brooch

A brooch made for pottery lovers! I’ve made these 2D vases and pots to like sketches come to life. Each is made from thin rolled white clay and cut out individually to make each one unique (no cookie cutters here). To enhance the sketch look I edge each one with underglaze pencil.

But the real decoration on these brooches is the naked Raku! After going up to around 960 degrees the clay is removed and the classic hair method burns into the shape making permanent black design on the white ceramic. Because horse hair Raku leaves such thick lines, to match the small pot design I use magic pug hair making it a shrunk down version of a full size naked Raku pot.

You receive the exact brooch pictured in a black gift box. The shape and Raku burn marks mean they’re truly unique.
