Kintsugi Repaired Pottery

The Japanese art of Kintsugi is the fixing of broken pottery with with decorative gold to highlight the fix rather than hide it.

I’ve made this vase on my mini wheel which has been broken ready to mend. This is done with resin and gold power and then an extra coat to highlight the fix and the pattern of the break.

This vase is a reminder to embrace the imperfect. The flaws are seen as a unique piece of the objects history which adds to its beauty. Only when we are broken and healed can we become beautiful! Proud of the journey.
